Islamic Development Bank reviews 20 new projects in Uzbekistan worth $3 billion
The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is considering 20 new projects in Uzbekistan with a total value of $3 billion, according to the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade.
The announcement followed a meeting between the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and the head of the IDB Almaty Regional Hub Ali Muhammad Khan. The talks concluded a three-day mission by the IDB delegation to Uzbekistan, during which representatives conducted an in-depth review of ongoing projects, current investment initiatives, and active development programs.

During the dialogue, both sides reviewed the progress of their current joint portfolio and mapped out future partnership initiatives. These discussions resulted in the signing of a prospective investment project program and the formal approval of an updated project list.
According to the ministry, the cooperation portfolio between Uzbekistan and the IDB group stands as one of the most dynamically expanding in the region, already exceeding $5 billion.

The 20 new pipeline projects under evaluation will target priority strategic areas across the country. The ongoing partnership between Uzbekistan and the bank focuses on key development sectors, including transport infrastructure, energy, water resource management, healthcare, education, and agriculture.
