The initiative was discussed during a meeting at the ITB China exhibition in Shanghai, where the Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Abdulaziz Akkulov, met with top executives from the airline. The talks included Spring Airlines President Wang Wei, Chief Executive Officer Zhang Xiuzhi, and Chairman of the Board Wang Yu.

The discussions focused primarily on expanding bilateral tourism ties, developing new air routes, and enhancing transit potential. A key highlight of the meeting was the potential launch of direct flights by Spring Airlines to destinations within Uzbekistan.

The parties exchanged views on establishing air connectivity between various cities in the two countries. The development of these new routes is specifically aimed at accelerating the flow of tourists between China and Uzbekistan.
To support this growth, the officials proposed launching joint marketing campaigns designed to appeal directly to Chinese travelers. Additionally, specific plans were reviewed to promote Uzbekistan’s travel destinations through Spring Travel – a dedicated platform serving corporate clients.
