Healthcare spending in Uzbekistan surpasses UZS 7.2 trillion during January–April
Uzbekistan’s healthcare service sector saw substantial growth during the first four months of 2026, with total volume reaching nearly UZS 7.3 trillion.
Data published by the National Statistics Committee indicates a 15.1% increase compared to the same period last year.
A breakdown of the sector shows that hospital institutional services accounted for 20.2% of the total volume, while medical practice and dental services made up 16.8%. The remaining 63% was attributed to various other healthcare-related services.
On a regional level, healthcare expenditures were heavily concentrated in the capital. Tashkent recorded the highest volume by a wide margin, reaching UZS 3.3 trillion. The Tashkent region followed with UZS 674.3 billion, while Samarkand and Fergana regions recorded UZS 549.2 billion and UZS 488.1 billion, respectively.
Other regional expenditure figures include Andijan at UZS 329.0 billion, Namangan at UZS 323.6 billion, Bukhara at UZS 282.6 billion, Khorezm at UZS 270.0 billion, and Kashkadarya at UZS 263.5 billion. Lower volumes were registered in Surkhandarya at UZS 191.2 billion, Jizzakh at UZS 172.5 billion, Syrdarya at UZS 134.0 billion, the Republic of Karakalpakstan at UZS 126.5 billion, and Navoi region at UZS 118.4 billion.
