Government lifts annual limit on vehicle imports for individual and corporate needs
Uzbekistan has officially lifted the restriction that limited individuals and legal entities to obtaining only one vehicle compliance certificate per year for transport imported for personal use.
The change was introduced through presidential decree No. 104, signed on June 4. The document amends the General Technical Regulation on the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles, effectively removing the clause that restricted both citizens and businesses from certifying more than one imported vehicle per calendar year to meet their own needs.
The presidential decree entered into force on June 5, 2026.
Previously, the regulatory framework aimed to curb unofficial commercial imports by individuals, but the rule often created bureaucratic hurdles for genuine buyers looking to bring in multiple vehicles for corporate fleets or personal family use within the same year.
