According to official data released by the global governing body, the national team that lifts the World Cup trophy will receive a record $50 million payout. The runner-up finishing in second place will secure $33 million. Financial rewards for the remaining semi-finalists are also substantial, with the bronze medalists earning $29 million and the fourth-place finishers taking home $27 million.

FIFA has established structured payouts for teams exiting in the earlier stages of the tournament as well. Teams finishing in 5th–8th place will receive $19 million each, while those bowing out in 9th–16th place will take comfort in a $15 million reward. Nations finishing between 17th and 32nd place are set to collect $11 million, and teams landing in the 33rd–48th place bracket will be awarded $9 million.

Alongside performance-based bonuses, FIFA will distribute a flat preparation allowance to help manage logistics. Each of the 48 participating member associations will receive $1.5 million ahead of the event to cover essential organizational and travel expenses.

The 2026 allocation represents a noticeable step up from the financial figures recorded at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. At that tournament, eventual champions Argentina received $42 million from FIFA, while the trailing finalists, France, were paid $30 million. Similarly, third-place Croatia collected $27 million, and fourth-place Morocco walked away with $25 million. The expanded format and commercial growth of the upcoming edition have allowed FIFA to scale up these rewards across the entire board.
