South Korean robotics giant ROBOTIS launches humanoid robot factory project in Tashkent
South Korean robotics company ROBOTIS has begun construction of a manufacturing facility in Tashkent that will produce humanoid robots and robotic components, marking one of Uzbekistan's most ambitious high-tech industrial projects to date. The plant will be built within the Yangi Avlod Special Industrial Zone.
The project was officially launched during the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, where government officials and company executives gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony. Among those attending were Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Ilzat Kasimov, South Korean Ambassador Won Do Yeon, and ROBOTIS President Kim Byoung-soo.

Founded in 1999, ROBOTIS is one of South Korea's leading robotics developers, specializing in autonomous robotic systems, actuators, and humanoid technologies. The company operates internationally through branches in the United States, Japan, and China, while its technologies are used by a range of global corporations and research institutions, including Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Samsung, BMW, and NASA.

The future Tashkent facility is expected to manufacture both humanoid robots and key robotic components, bringing advanced production capabilities to Uzbekistan's growing industrial sector. Officials say the project will create more than 1,000 skilled jobs while helping develop a local workforce with expertise in robotics, automation, and advanced manufacturing.
