Tashkent dominates Uzbekistan’s EV market, accounting for more than 70% of all electric cars
The total number of registered electric vehicles (EVs) in Uzbekistan reached 109,200 units as of April 1, 2026, showing a highly uneven distribution that places the vast majority of the country's green fleet within the borders of the capital city.
According to data compiled by the National Statistics Committee, Tashkent sits at the absolute forefront of domestic EV adoption. The capital alone accounts for 79,851 registered electric vehicles, a figure that dwarfs the combined totals of all other administrative territories combined.
The surrounding Tashkent region follows as a distant second with 8,194 units, while Samarkand region occupies the third position on the national list with 4,525 registered electric cars.
