Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Alexander Lukashenko hold informal meeting in Minsk
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held an informal meeting in Minsk on July 8 as part of the Uzbek leader's official visit to Belarus.
Welcoming Mirziyoyev, Lukashenko thanked him for making the visit and wished him a warm welcome. The two presidents also exchanged views on the agenda for their upcoming high-level negotiations.

The leaders spoke positively about a series of events held ahead of the visit, including an interregional forum attended by business representatives from both countries.

Earlier, Mirziyoyev was welcomed at Minsk National Airport by Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov, and other senior officials.
After arriving in the Belarusian capital, the Uzbek president laid a wreath at the Victory Monument. The national anthems of Uzbekistan and Belarus were performed by a military orchestra, followed by a ceremonial march by the honor guard.
According to the visit's program, Mirziyoyev and Lukashenko are scheduled to hold high-level bilateral talks today, July 9.
