The club announced on its Telegram channel that the funding was allocated under a presidential resolution dated March 24, 2026, aimed at improving financing mechanisms in the sports sector and expanding the involvement of private businesses.
"Practical support from our government has begun to reach the club. Yesterday, under Presidential Resolution No. PP-107 of March 24, 2026, on improving financing mechanisms in the sports sector and expanding the participation of business entities, UZS 5 billion was allocated to Bunyodkor Football Club," the statement said.
According to the club, the financial assistance will allow the team to continue preparing for its upcoming Super League matches as scheduled.
The announcement follows reports that Bunyodkor had informed the Professional Football League of Uzbekistan (PFL) that it might be unable to travel to Navoi region for its August 2 away match against Qizilqum in the 15th round of the Super League because of a lack of funds.
In its letter to the league, the club said it did not have enough money to cover travel expenses, hotel accommodation and meals for the delegation during the trip.
The funding comes as a temporary reprieve for one of Uzbekistan's most successful football clubs, which has been struggling with deep financial problems in recent months.
