The case was launched after a video circulated on social media in which residents of a house on Abdulla Qahhor Street in the Damariq neighborhood of Yakkasaray district claimed they had been forcibly evicted by representatives of the New Port residential complex and had not been paid the full compensation they were promised.
According to the Tashkent City Prosecutor's Office, a pre-investigation inquiry found that officials of Mega Logistics Service LLC demolished the house even though enforcement procedures related to the relocation of its residents had not yet been completed.
The inquiry also found that several residential buildings had been constructed on the site without the required construction permits. According to prosecutors, the unauthorized development includes one 20-story, two 19-story, one 12-story, and one 2-story residential building.
A criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident, and a preliminary investigation is underway.
The Tashkent City Prosecutor's Office said the investigation has been placed under its special supervision.
