The incident occurred on Oct. 25 while construction and renovation work was underway at the house, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Preliminary findings indicate that a heating boiler installed in the basement did not meet safety requirements and that the gas line had been connected without complying with the required technical standards.

The district prosecutor’s office has opened a criminal case under Articles 116, 257 and 205 of Uzbekistan’s Criminal Code. Investigators from the Tashkent City Prosecutor’s Office are handling the case.

The Prosecutor General’s Office urged residents to follow fire safety rules when using gas equipment and heating appliances, have them installed by qualified specialists and check their technical condition regularly.
