Speaking to the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov said the two countries had reached agreements on a number of initiatives to be implemented in Kyrgyzstan.

Among the planned projects are the establishment of a joint cattle breeding cluster and the cultivation of rice and potatoes in Kyrgyzstan. Uzbek businesses are also expanding their presence in the country's construction materials sector by producing aluminum profiles, polymer products and dry construction mixes.

Kudratov said geological exploration would become a new area of bilateral cooperation.

"Our companies have accumulated significant expertise in this field. Relevant ministries and specialized companies from Uzbekistan will begin carrying out geological exploration work in Kyrgyzstan," he said.

The minister added that energy cooperation would remain a priority, including work on the Kambarata Hydropower Plant project and the development of small-scale power generation.

Transport infrastructure also featured prominently in the discussions. According to Kudratov, construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway is progressing ahead of schedule.

The two sides also agreed to create more favorable conditions for cargo transit, processing and customs clearance.

Following the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Business Forum, the parties signed agreements and reached investment and trade deals worth more than $1.5 billion, the minister said.

Trade continues to expand

Kudratov noted that bilateral trade has grown by 45% since the beginning of the year, reaching $624.6 million.

Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan totaled $1.2 billion in 2025, up 37% from $874.7 million in 2024.

"We have received specific instructions from our leaders, identified additional product groups, determined exporters and importers in both countries, and will work together to achieve the goal of significantly increasing bilateral trade," the minister said.

He described the state visit as a historic event that would usher in a new stage in Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations.
