The ARGUS-SYS anti-UAV system was showcased at the Engineers of the Future review competition. According to the project description, the system is designed to rapidly detect and neutralize drones.
The system automatically detects and tracks targets using the YOLOv8 artificial intelligence algorithm and optical transmitters.
Its 500-watt laser, operating at a wavelength of 405 nanometers, is claimed to be capable of disabling a target at a distance of more than 1,000 meters in less than two seconds.
The project is focused on developing a rapid-response system for countering unmanned aerial vehicles.
