The inspections were carried out to monitor retail prices for pharmaceutical products. Officials found multiple cases in which medicines were sold well above the maximum prices set under current regulations.

At a Shunqorlar pharmacy, for example, a 300 ml bottle of Convulex drops was sold for UZS 395,000, compared with a permitted price of UZS 66,481. The same pharmacy was selling Polimic tablets for UZS 70,000 – about 5.5 times the permitted price.

The Muno Farm pharmacy in Qoraqamish was selling a 30-tablet pack of Stimuloton for UZS 295,000, nearly six times the maximum permitted price of UZS 50,666.17.

At City Pharm, Baktamed ampoules were priced at UZS 63,000, or 3.3 times the permitted price. The same medicine was sold at Amir Pharm Trade for UZS 32,000 – twice the permitted price.

Hosil Pharm was selling 20 tablets of Slideron for UZS 349,000, although the maximum permitted price was UZS 115,677. The pharmacy was also selling Lantus SoloStar for UZS 190,000, applying an 80% markup against the permitted 20%.

Feruza Nur Med was selling 10 Polimic tablets for UZS 62,000, five times the permitted retail price.

The committee also identified inflated prices for ampoules of the painkiller No-Spa at several pharmacies, including Leader Pharm Group, Pharm S Golden, Ruslan Buyuk Farm and City Pharm.

The Competition Committee has issued orders to all the companies involved, requiring them to eliminate the violations.

It has also asked the relevant authorities to review the existing licensing requirements for pharmacies.
