The decree approves the "Customs of New Uzbekistan – 2030" strategy for 2026–2030. It instructs the Customs Committee, together with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Central Bank and the Ministry of Justice, to draft a relevant bill and submit it to the Cabinet of Ministers by December 2027.
Only amounts exceeding the equivalent of $10,000 would need to be declared.
The current threshold is UZS 100 million. Under existing rules, amounts above that limit must be declared.
Before September 1, 2020, the limit was the equivalent of $2,000.

Uzbekistan plans to allow people travelling abroad to carry up to $10,000 in cash without having to declare it, up from the current threshold of UZS 100 million, according to presidential decree signed on August 27.
