The ministry said its International Cooperation Department met with Gou on September 17 to mark the start of his work in Tashkent. Gou said the French Interior Ministry had appointed him to coordinate cooperation with law enforcement agencies across Central Asia.
Reportedly, Gou noted that carrying out his activities from Tashkent would contribute to the further development of law enforcement cooperation between Uzbekistan and France.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the interior ministries of Uzbekistan and France. The sides discussed professional training, the exchange of experience and arrangements for high-level meetings.
“Following the meeting, the leadership of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan wished Cyril Gou success in his new position”, the statement reads.
