The academy will provide advanced training each year for 3,000 doctors and 6,800 mid-level medical and pharmaceutical professionals, as well as around 100 clinical residents from the region, the presidential press service said.
The academy has facilities for both training and accommodation, including a 72-bed hotel for specialists arriving from remote areas.
Its practical training facilities include 18 simulation rooms, where healthcare professionals can develop hands-on skills. Training is offered in more than 50 areas, covering over 100 types of medical procedures in line with international standards.
The academy is equipped with advanced medical technologies, including the Edge Medical surgical robot, the only system of its kind in Central Asia. It is used for simulation-based training and can also support high-precision remote surgical procedures in clinical settings.
The academy works with international medical centers and leading universities, including the University of Pittsburgh in the United States and the University of Freiburg in Germany. It has organized international training courses and joint research projects, while also introducing telemedicine and digital learning technologies.
President Mirziyoyev toured the academy’s training facilities and met with students and healthcare professionals.
