The banks have introduced Session Anti-Fraud and antivirus systems to protect customers’ funds and mobile devices from various digital threats. The systems assess banking transactions based on their level of risk and restrict those classified as high-risk, helping reduce the risk of funds being transferred through suspicious operations.

According to the Central Bank, Xalq Banki prevented the largest number of fraudulent incidents linked to malicious software, with more than 2.2 million cases recorded during the six-month period. Ipak Yuli Bank prevented more than 1.4 million such incidents.

Hamkorbank and National Bank of Uzbekistan each recorded more than 100,000 prevented fraudulent transactions during the first half of the year.

Overall, the systems restricted access to 1.29 million devices and removed malicious software from about 2 million devices over the six months.

Session Anti-Fraud and antivirus systems were introduced at banks in accordance with Presidential Resolution No. PQ-381.

The protection mechanisms are designed to detect fraud risks at an early stage, block suspicious transactions in time and protect customers’ funds and devices when they use banking services.

Credit institutions also take additional measures under their internal procedures to prevent fraud committed through information technologies when issuing online loans and microloans.

If fraudsters obtain an online loan in another person’s name, the calculation and collection of interest, penalties and other charges related to the fraudulent loan are suspended.
