Mirziyoyev reviewed proposals aimed at providing social protection for the population, particularly low-income families, during the autumn and winter period.

The meeting addressed measures to expand existing support mechanisms covering electricity, gas, coal and utility payments.

The proposed increase in the basic electricity threshold will apply during the heating season in areas that are not gasified or where gas supplies have not reached households.

The authorities also proposed considering one-time financial assistance for low-income families in December.

Another proposal would raise the income threshold used to determine eligibility for assistance with electricity, gas, coal and utility costs for low-income families not included in the Social Register. The threshold would be increased to UZS 1.43 million per family member, expanding the coverage of the support measures to an additional 166,000 families.

The government also proposed extending the period for partial compensation of electricity and gas costs exceeding the basic consumption thresholds until April 1, 2028. The measure is expected to cover 470,000 families annually.

Work will also continue to improve the thermal insulation of 3,000 homes in neighborhoods with difficult living conditions and equip them with energy-efficient appliances.

Mirziyoyev instructed the government to ensure that funds allocated for the support measures are provided on time, improve targeting when identifying families in need, and strengthen oversight to ensure that assistance reaches each eligible household.
