President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the refinery in the Karakul district of Bukhara region, where he was briefed on the modernization project.

The project includes the installation of naphtha hydrotreating and isomerization units, which will enable the refinery to increase production of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline meeting Euro-5 environmental standards.

It also includes improvements to feedstock fractionation and the deep processing of heavy residues.

Once completed, the modernization will add 2.5 million tonnes to the refinery's annual processing capacity, bringing the total to 5 million tonnes. The expansion is expected to strengthen supplies to the domestic market and increase export potential.

Between January and September 2026, the refinery produced 1.36 million tonnes of petroleum products worth UZS 12.1 trillion. Exports of products and services reached $99.5 million, with the figure expected to rise to $116 million by the end of the year.

The facility employs more than 3,200 specialists.
