Uzbekistan appoints new ambassador to the UK
Ravshan Usmanov has been appointed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the UK.
Prior to the appointment – since 2018 – Usmanov has served as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Malaysia.
45-year-old Ravshan Usmanov is a graduate of Birmingham University (Great Britain), the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (Uzbekistan), and Tashkent State Law University.
In 2000, he started working in the foreign policy office and served in various positions in the central apparatus and the embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain. Later, he headed the Department for Cooperation with European countries and NATO at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Usmanov also served as an ambassador in France, Italy, and Portugal.
Ravshan Usmanov replaced Said Rustamov, who had been working as an ambassador in London since 2019.
