ADB to grant $197 million for the construction of agro-logistics centers in Uzbekistan
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will allocate a $197 million loan to Uzbekistan for the construction of agro-logistics centers. In accordance with the info of draft law portal, the logistics Center will be engaged in the selection, storage and delivery of fresh and processed fruits and vegetables.
ADB will provide a loan with a 5-year grace period for 25 years for the construction of agro-logistics centers. The loan is paid at the expense of the state budget.
Uzbekistan, in turn, invests $ 47,75 million in the project. The capital will be presented in the form of $ 39,15 million preferences in tax and customs payments and $ 8,60 million for the coverage of financial expenses during the investment period.
Agro-logistics centers will be built in Andijan, Samarkand and Tashkent regions. The construction project is expected to be completed by 2023.
Moreover, after the completion of the construction of logistics centers, it is proposed to create a free economic zone in the region.
