The agreement was signed following talks between Akmal Burkhanov, director of Uzbekistan’s Anti-Corruption Agency, and Alexander Gutsan, Prosecutor General of Russia, according to Russia’s Izvestia newspaper.
The program provides for the exchange of experience in preventing corruption, the use of digital tools to identify corruption risks, efforts to strengthen anti-corruption culture, and cooperation in research and education.
The two sides also discussed the use of digital technologies to combat corruption and plans to establish more regular contacts between the relevant agencies of the two countries.
Uzbekistan will host the 12th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption in 2027. Russia confirmed its readiness to take an active part in the event.
