Timur Kapadze named among world’s top 10 national team coaches
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has recognized former Uzbekistan national football team head coach Timur Kapadze as one of the world’s best national team managers in 2025.
As part of its year-end review, IFFHS published a ranking of the top national team coaches worldwide. Kapadze placed eighth in the list, earning 10 points.
The top spot went to Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente, followed by Portugal’s Roberto Martínez in second place and Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni in third. The top 10 also included national team coaches from Norway, England, France, Morocco, and Mexico.
Kapadze began his coaching career in 2018, when he served as interim head coach of the Uzbekistan national team. He later worked as part of the coaching staff at Tashkent-based Lokomotiv Tashkent and went on to manage the club’s youth team. In 2019, he was appointed assistant head coach of the national team.
From January to November 2025, Kapadze served as head coach of the Uzbekistan national team. He currently leads Namangan-based football club Navbahor.
