President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the technology park in Khojabad district during his trip to Andijan region and reviewed the new production facility.
The plant was built with a $25 million investment from Sanchuan. The company partnered with Huawei to establish production of intelligent water meters equipped with 5G connectivity.
The meters allow water consumption, water quality, equipment condition and the consumer’s remaining balance to be monitored online. They are also designed to prevent water accumulation and feature frost-resistant casings.
The plant is expected to produce up to 1 million smart water meters across 15 product types annually. About 80% of its production processes are automated using robots.
A dual education system has also been introduced at the facility. By 2030, companies producing components and spare parts for the meters are expected to be established at the industrial zone, with the aim of raising the level of local content to 70%.
The Andijan Technology Park covers 100 hectares and has a total construction cost of around $300 million. Once fully operational, the complex is expected to accommodate 51 industrial enterprises and create up to 3,000 jobs.
The industrial zone is projected to produce more than 50 types of goods worth over $200 million annually. Its export potential is expected to increase by $50 million, while annual budget revenues are projected at UZS 160 billion.
