People in Uzbekistan spend over UZS 3.5 trillion on healthcare services in two months
According to the latest data from the National Statistics Committee, the volume of market services provided in the healthcare sector reached UZS 3.55 trillion during January-February 2026. This figure represents a 9.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
A detailed breakdown of the sector reveals that a significant portion of these expenditures was directed toward specialized care. Hospital services accounted for 30.7% of the total volume, while medical and dental practices made up 17.2%. The remaining 52.1% was attributed to various other related healthcare services.
Geographically, the distribution of healthcare spending remains heavily concentrated in the capital. Tashkent city led the nation with a total of UZS 1,642.3 billion, followed by the Tashkent region at UZS 330.6 billion and Samarkand at UZS 264.3 billion. Other regions also saw substantial activity, including Fergana with UZS 241.9 billion, Namangan with UZS 162.5 billion, and Andijan with UZS 155 billion.
Lower spending volumes were recorded in regions such as Navoi at UZS 56.3 billion and the Republic of Karakalpakstan at UZS 60.8 billion. The varying levels across the provinces reflect the ongoing development of private medical infrastructure and regional differences in population density.
