Information on total reserves of Uzbekistan’s oil and gas fields publicized

There are 275 oil and gas fields in the country with total reserves of around 2.4 billion tons of fuel.

According to the Uzbekneftegaz press service, geological prospecting is being carried out in the Ustyurt, Bukhara-Khiva, Gissar, Surkhandarya and Fergana oil fields to ensure the stability of the base of hydrocarbon raw materials and replenish the extracted oil and gas products.

As a result of geological-exploration work carried out in accordance with the Presidential Decree PQ-3372 of November 3, 2017, 16 oil and gas fields were discovered and underground hydrocarbon reserves grew by 171 million tons of fuel during 2017-2018 and 9 months of the current year.

It is noted that out of 16 fields, 4 are in the Ustyurt region (Beshkala, Kuyi Surgil, Kushkair, Oralik), 2 – in the Fergana region (Uchtepa, Chakar), 10 – in the Bukhara-Khiva region (Topichaksoy, Marvarid, Shortak, Chordarbaza, Tumaris, Andakli, Janubiy Kulbeshkak, Yormok, Dultatepa, Shorkum).

By the end of this year, it is planned to increase the underground hydrocarbon reserves up to 53 million tons. Currently, geological-exploration works are being carried out in the central part of the Ustyurt region (Alpomish, Ultan, Arslon, etc.), in the western part of the Bukhara-Khiva region (Tumaris, Andakli, Janubiy Kulbeshkak, Sharkiy Khatar, etc.), in the southern part of the Fergana region (Uchtepa, Chakar, Kuyi Kashkarkir, etc.).

Reportedly, five new deposits (Kushkair, Oralik, Chakar, Dultatepa, Shortak) and underground hydrocarbon reserves grew up to 31 million tons of fuel.
