Odil Akhmedov confirms his readiness to consider proposals from Russian clubs

Former midfielder of the Russian clubs “Anji” and “Krasnodar”, the current player of the Chinese “Shanghai SIPG” Odil Akhmedov said that he would not mind returning to the Russian championship. He told the newspaper "Izvestia" about it.

Earlier, you played for Russia for a long time, do you not miss the country?

- Of course, I miss. In the Russian championship, I spent six years of my life. They remain in my memory forever, as some of the brightest in my football career. Russian clubs have realized my dream - to play in European competition. Fans have always been there and supported me. These memories are very valuable.

Before leaving for China, it was rumored that you had offers from Europe. In particular, from France. Is it true?

- Yes. There was an option with transition to the FC OGC Nice. But the offer that Shanghai made was completely satisfactory for me. Therefore, I decided to pursue a career in China.

When you were playing for Anji, it was rumored that London Arsenal was interested in you. Is this information true?

- Yes, indeed. There was a request to Anji, but at that time the Makhachkala team was a big project, setting very high goals for itself. I was considered as one of the important participants of the Dagestan club.

Why this transfer did not take place?

- As the French say, c'est la vie (this is life).

Everyone says that China has huge salaries. Did your salary change a lot compared to what you had in “Krasnodar”?

- I cannot give figures, but compared with Krasnodar, the salary has grown progressively.

Have you lost much money when you moved from Anji to Krasnodar?

- Honestly, I have never compared (smiles).
