President of Uzbekistan to attend the CIS Council of Heads of State meeting

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, will attend the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Commonwealth of Independent States on Sept. 27-28, in Dushanbe, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
The summit program envisages consideration of a wide range of issues regarding political interaction, cooperation in cultural and humanitarian areas, as well as topics related to security.
Furthermore, the chairmanship for the Council’s next meeting, its venue and date will also be discussed at the summit.
Following the meeting, it is expected to adopt documents, including the Statement of the Heads of States of the CIS Member States on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of December 10, 1948, the Plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945, the Interstate Program of Joint Measures to Combat Crime for 2019-2023, the Cooperation Agreement in Combating Information Technology Crimes.
The agenda of the Uzbek President’s visit also includes a number of bilateral meetings in the capital city of Tajikistan.
Earlier it was reported that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov would take part in the meeting of CIS Council of Foreign Ministers to discuss the agenda of the upcoming summit of the Council of CIS Heads of State.
