Shavkat Mirziyoyev pays an official visit to India in October

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, will pay his first official visit to India this October, says the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Suhrob Kholmurodov during the 11th Uzbek-Indian Intergovernmental Commission’s meeting in Tashkent.
“We do hope that at today’s meeting of the commission and in the business forum, we will reach an agreement on joint actions and projects that will fill the agenda of the two leaders’ meeting in October with clear political content,” he adds.
The Minister of Commerce and Industry of India Suresh Prabhun says the visit of the Uzbek President concurs with the birthday of Gandhi ("Gandhi Jayanti"), a state holiday in India which is celebrated on October 2.
"The current level of cooperation is incompatible with the existing potential. Therefore, we propose to unite our efforts to create new extensive investment projects that will lift the relations between the two countries to a qualitatively new level," stated Holmuradov.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, trade and investment development can create "solid foundation for long-term strategic partnership."
