5 out of 7 boxers from Uzbekistan became champions in the 18th Asian Games

Boxing Championship in Indonesia was productive for our compatriots.

As earlier reported, 7 members of the Uzbek Boxing Team reached the finals in the Boxing championship of the 18th Asian Games in their respective weight categories.

Jasurbek Latipov, Miraziz Mirzakhalilov, Iqboljon Kholdorov, Bobousmon Baturov and Israil Madrimov secured gold medals in their weight categories, while Khasanboy Dusmatov, a Rio champion, suffered an unexpected defeat from his opponent Amit Panghal of India. Shunqor Abdurasulov, another finalist who defended the honor of our country, did also lose his chance against Tsendbaatar Erdenebat of Mangolia in the weight category up to 60 kg and had to bag a silver medal.

It is worth to note that Uzbekistan came first in the boxing matches of the Asian Games 2018 with 5 gold and 2 silver medals.
