President of the Republic of Uzbekistan received Binali Yildirim

On Sept. 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the chairman of the Great National Assembly of Turkey Binali Yildirim, who is on an official visit in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed that thanks to the political will and joint efforts, the traditionally close and friendly Uzbek-Turkish relations have reached the level of strategic partnership.

It was especially noted that the fruitful high-level talks held during last year's state visit to Turkey and this spring to Uzbekistan, the important documents signed on the basis of their results, made it possible to lay a solid foundation for escalating practical cooperation in various fields.

Political dialogue is actively developing. Joint investment programs and projects are being implemented with leading Turkish companies and banks in the areas of trade, innovation, energy, infrastructure, transport, tourism, textile, food industries and others.

Evidence of the growing interest of the Turkish businesses to work in the Uzbek market is the creation of over 230 joint Uzbek-Turkish enterprises since the beginning of this year. The mutual trade turnover for this period has grown by more than 40 %.

Cultural and humanitarian exchanges are expanding, including in the areas of health and education, as well as tourism.

Inter-parliamentary ties play an important role in the consistent development and strengthening of bilateral relations. There is an intensive exchange of delegations of legislative bodies between our countries.

Parliamentary friendship groups are successfully operating in the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey. The Memorandum and the Roadmap for the development of cooperation have been adopted.

During the conversation, importance of practical implementation of agreements, reached at high-level meetings, was specially noted.

Binali Yildirim expressed his deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for his warm welcome and conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

He praised the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, stressing that the Turkish side is ready to render all possible assistance in implementing promising projects aimed at modernizing the country's economy and social sphere.

During the constructive dialogue, the sides reaffirmed the commitment of the parties to further strengthen traditional friendship relations and long-term strategic partnership.
