Uzbekistan may host the CIS summit in 2020
Shavkat Mirziyoyev said Uzbekistan is ready to host the CIS summit 2020 in Uzbekistan.
"We confirm our readiness to hold the summit of the Organization in 2020 in Uzbekistan," President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated at a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State in Dushanbe.
President Mirziyoyev noted that in the context of rapidly changing global challenges and threats, the Commonwealth of Independent States serves as an important platform for strengthening multifaceted relationship between the member states.
“Uzbekistan has moved to a completely new stage in its activities in the CIS starting from 2017. Our country has joined several dozen cooperation, whose activities cover such areas as economy, energy, science and innovation, crime prevention, and others,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
It should be noted that following the summit in Dushanbe, the CIS heads of state adopted a number of important political documents.
