Turkish company to build a wind power plant in Surkhandarya

ETKA CO ENERJI A.Ş, a Turkish company, has introduced a new project on building a wind power plant in Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan, UzA.uz news agency reports.
The project, which is planned to be implemented within the framework of the Concept of development of Surkhandarya region for 2019-2030, will provide consumers with cheap and reliable electricity.
The company is currently studying the viability of the project. It is planned to be commissioned by 2020.
According to Surkhandarya regional administration, foreign investments worth $ 500 million will be invested in the project.
Experts say, the mountainous region possesses every opportunity to get cheap electricity from the wind.
After the launching of the power plant, the quality of uninterrupted power supply to consumers in Baysun and Sherobod districts will increase and energy cuts will be completely eliminated.
