On Oct. 5, 2018, a telephone conversation took place between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the press service of the Uzbek leader reports.
The head of our state, warmly congratulating the President of Tajikistan on his birthday, wished him robust health and new successes in the highest state activity.
The sides noted with satisfaction that regular meetings and contacts at the highest level contribute to further strengthening of cooperation and strategic partnership between our countries.
It was emphasized that the fruitful negotiations that were held during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to our country on Aug. 17-18, and the agreements reached following the talks, served to develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
Furthermore, President Shavakt Mirziyoyev’s working visit to Dushanbe on Sept. 27-28 this year to participate in the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State was another stimulus to improve contacts.
The parties stressed the importance of regular working visits at the level of governments, ministries and departments of the two countries in order to develop practical cooperation and full implementation of the agreements reached.
At the end of the telephone conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon reaffirmed their firm commitment to the comprehensive expansion of mutually beneficial relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, based on centuries-old friendship, principles of good-neighborliness and strategic partnership.
