Uzbekistan doubles fines for chucking rubbish from vehicles

Amount of fines for throwing trash from vehicles has doubled in Uzbekistan, Kun.uz correspondent reports.

This is done in compliance with amendments made to Article 123 of the Code of Administrative Liability.

According to the new rules, people who chuck rubbish out of car windows or other public transportation will be fined from 36,800 to 184,300 sums.

The order is to come into effect from Jan. 11, 2019

Currently, the amount of municipal fine for the same act of crime is between 18,400 to 92,000 sums. 

It should be noted that in 2017 in the Tashkent region, 1394 violations of environmental legislation were identified, of which 223 were related to rubbish dumping out of vehicles. It accounted for 40.8% of the total number of violations detected.
