Vladimir Putin asked Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father not to punish his son strictly

On Oct. 10, 2018, Vladimir Putin met with Russian UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov and his father in Ulyanovsk and congratulated the athlete on his victory over Conor McGregor, Life.ru reports citing the press service of the President of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, Mr. Putin asked Nurmagomedov Sr. not to punish his son strictly for his conduct after the bout with the Irishman Conor McGregor.

“I ask your father not to punish you strictly, because you succeeded in accomplishing your main task: you won the fight, won with dignity and convincingly,” the Russian President said.
