Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow discuss prospects for bilateral relations

On October 15, a telephone conversation was held between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.

During the conversation, it was noted with deep satisfaction that regular contacts and summits help further strengthen the bonds of the centuries-old friendship of the two fraternal nations, deepen good-neighborly relations and expand mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries based on the principles of mutual respect, support and consideration of common interests.

The head of our state sincerely congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on receiving an award from the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union for his outstanding contribution to the development of the media.

The fruitful results of the summit of the International Fund for saving the Aral Sea, successfully held under the chairmanship of the President of Turkmenistan in August this year in Avaza, were highly appreciated. It was emphasized that environmental issues, in particular, overcoming the consequences of the Aral Sea catastrophe, are extremely important for the sustainable development of the Central Asian region.

The President of Turkmenistan expressed his gratitude to the head of our state for the sincere congratulations, highlighting the consistent strengthening of bilateral relations.

The prospects for cooperation in the field of trade, industrial cooperation, energy, the development of efficient transport communications and other areas were considered.

The importance of expanding interregional contacts and cultural-humanitarian exchanges was emphasized.

At the end of the conversation, the heads of two states reaffirmed their commitment to the further development and strengthening of good neighborly relations, strategic partnership and practical cooperation between the two fraternal countries.
