Uzbek student arrested in Japan is now released

A citizen of Uzbekistan, who arrived in Japan on Sept. 26 for education, was arrested for alleged crime of robbery. He was accused of stealing 800,000 Yens in one of the country's stores.
On October 4, her mother appealed to the International Youth Association of Uzbekistan for help. The Youth Union of Izboskan district council and other local authorities sent a letter to Japan, vouching for the student.
Being informed of the incident, Erkin Takhirov, Consul of Uzbekistan in Japan together with Jurabek Khasanov, representative of the International Youth Association of Uzbekistan in Tokyo thoroughly studied the case and helped to prove the innocence of the Uzbek citizen.
On October 17, 2018, he was released from custody due to insufficient evidence.
