Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the US Secretary of Commerce

On October 23, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, who is in our country on a working visit, the presidential press service reports.

Warmly welcoming the guest, the head of our state particularly noted the existing great potential for increasing mutual trade, implementing promising projects in various sectors of the economy based on attracting direct investment, advanced technologies and experience of leading American companies, as well as expanding cooperation in the banking and financial sectors.

The fruitful results of the events organized at the American Business Week in Uzbekistan with the participation of managers and representatives of world-renowned industrial holdings, financial and investment corporations and US banks were noted with deep satisfaction.

Furthermore, the sides discussed the issues of practical cooperation in the implementation of specific projects and programs in the field of trade, high technologies, agriculture, logistics and transport.

The US Secretary of Commerce, expressing deep gratitude for the warm welcome, conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the US President Donald Trump to the head of our state.

It should be noted that the maiden visit of the US Secretary of Commerce to Uzbekistan is the evidence of mutual interest and readiness of the parties to further develop relations in the framework of the agreements reached during bilateral contacts.
