Uzbek-Chinese Innovation Center to be established in Uzbekistan

The first Uzbek-Chinese Innovation Center will be created in Uzbekistan in the near future, Kun.uz correspondent reports.

The agreements on its creation were concluded by the Development Strategy Center and the Shanghai Center for science and technology within the framework of the technological innovation alliance held in the People’s Republic of China.

In addition, the parties agreed on the issues of consulting, organizing the training and education of Uzbek specialists at leading research-innovation centers in Shanghai to facilitate the exchange of talented young people in the scientific-technical industry.

It should be noted that the workshop is being conducted in order to further promote the exchange and cooperation between Shanghai and the countries of Central Asia in the fields of science and technology, as well as the implementation of the Special plan to promote the Belt Initiative.
 
At the summit, Akmal Burkhanov, director of the Development Strategy Center, noted that in the framework of diversifying international trade, economic and innovation-technological relations, Uzbekistan actively collaborates with China on a number of projects in the scientific-technical sector, in agriculture, seismology and industry.

The potential of hydropower cooperation in the framework of the program of measures for the development of hydropower industry in Uzbekistan by 2021 was emphasized. The need to boost cooperation in conducting exploration and development of oil and gas sites was also noted.

Following the Summit, a Joint statement was signed on the development of scientific and technical cooperation between research-analytical centers of China and Central Asian countries in the field of innovation, science and technology.
