Uzbek, Kazakh Secretaries of the Security Councils met in Shymkent

Shymkent hosted extensive consultations between the heads of the Security Councils of Kazakhstan Gabit Baizhanov and Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov, Akorda reports.
During the meeting, the issues of security, the current state and prospects of regional cooperation in Central Asia and interaction within international organizations were discussed.
The agenda of the meeting also included exchange of views on combatting terrorism and religious extremism, cooperation for cyber security and transfer of convicts to serve their sentences in their respective states.
The heads of the Security Councils reviewed the preliminary results of the roadmap implemented for the improvement of relations on water management.
Following the negotiations, instructions were given to the relevant state bodies of the two countries to further develop friendly ties.
