Kazakhstan ratified the agreement on the junction point of the state borders with Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan
On November 5, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a law on the ratification of an agreement between Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on the area of the junction point of three state borders.
In accordance with the document, the junction point is located in the northern part, on the saline land of “Shorkazakly”.
Earlier, the deputy of “Majilis Karaken Kuralay” noted that the name “Shorkazakly” has Uzbek roots, in Turkmenistan it is called “Kazaklysor”, but the Kazakh side does not name this terrain at all. The deputy wondered if the area would have a common name in three countries.
In reply, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan said that the states would use the name “Shorzkazakly”.
