Ministry of Public Education denied the rumors about supplying all schools with buses from January 1
The Ministry of Public Education has rebutted the information that from January 1, all schools in Uzbekistan will be equipped with buses, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
It should be noted that few days previously, a number of local media published materials that from January 1, 2019 all schools in the country will be provided with buses.
“On November 2, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on organizing the effective implementation of the planned reforms to further develop the public education system. In the course of the meeting, the president instructed to transform the regional school branches into primary schools by January 1, 2019. At the same time, it was entrusted to study the issue of providing buses for transporting pupils in places where it is inappropriate to create full-fledged schools,” the Ministry officials noted.
Currently, more than 9,600 schools are functioning in the system of Ministry of Public Education and it is impossible to provide all schools with buses within two months. Therefore, this initiative will primarily affect schools in remote areas.
