Around 1,400 pedestrians were fined in a week in Tashkent for violating traffic rules

On Oct. 31 – Nov. 6, 2018, in Tashkent, 1,397 pedestrians were fined for crossing the road in the inappropriate places, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
The penalty amount is one third of the minimum wage (67,576 sums). Violators can be penalized by the traffic inspectors for crossing the roadway at unauthorized places, using the telephone, reading books or periodicals, watching videos and listening to audio, as well as using other electronic devices that distract the attention while moving on the road, including at a pedestrian crossing.
In addition, on October 29 - November 5, General Traffic Department officers revealed 3251 traffic violations by drivers. The most common offence is the failure to use a seat belt - 1075 facts. This is followed by driving a vehicle without the relevant documents – inspectors identified 115 such violations.
