Germany to contribute to the sustainable development of the Uzbek economy
In accordance with the press service of the State Committee for Investments, Germany and Uzbekistan will continue their cooperation in the field of sustainable economic development.
Tashkent hosted streamlined Uzbek-German intergovernmental consultations on financial-technical cooperation. Germany was represented by head of the department of Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development Catherine Oellers. The German delegation also included specialists from the German Development Bank “KfW” and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
From the Uzbek side, the meeting was chaired by Laziz Kudratov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Investment Committee, with the participation of heads of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan.
Results of cooperation and project proposals for further development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Germany were discussed at the meeting.
“Uzbekistan has implemented a number of important projects aimed at developing vocational education, health care, agriculture, small business and transport infrastructure systems with financial-technical assistance of the German government. We also express our gratitude to our partners – “KfW” Bank and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) for active operation and effective cooperation in Uzbekistan,” Mr. Kudratov said.
During the consultations, the parties agreed on the resumption of cooperation in the field of sustainable economic development. It will contribute to the welfare of the population, development of small and private businesses, as well as other areas.
