Chairman of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to visit Uzbekistan
On November 20-24, a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA), headed by the Chairman George Tsereteli, will visit Uzbekistan, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
“Over the course of the scheduled meetings in the chambers of Oliy Majlis and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, priorities of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will be discussed,” the press service of the upper chamber of parliament noted.
Members of the OSCE delegation will also participate in the Asian Forum on Human Rights. It will be held on November 22-23 in Samarkand.
It should be noted that in 1995-1999, Mr. Tsereteli was the vice-mayor of Tbilisi. In 1999, he was elected to the Georgian parliament, served as minister and vice-premier of the government. In 2012-2017, he used to be the Deputy Chairman of the OSCE PA.
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly is an inter-parliamentary organization uniting 57 states of Europe, Asia and North America. They are members of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
