A Security Council meeting is being held under the chairmanship of Shavkat Mirziyoyev

An expanded meeting of the Security Council under the chairmanship of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is being held at the Academy of the Armed Forces, the presidential press service reports.

The head of our state, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, noted at the meeting that, in accordance with the Action Strategy for the development of our country, large-scale work is being carried out in the field of military construction.

The tasks set at the meeting of the Security Council on January 10 of the current year have been consistently implemented. 46 regulatory legal acts aimed at reforming and developing the Armed Forces were adopted

Over the past short period, the structure of military units has been completely updated, the ineffective and overlapping units have been reduced. As a result, the expenditure of funds for the maintenance of troops decreased. An outsourcing system was introduced in the food supply, which made it possible to increase the combat readiness of military units and to reduce the temporary indicators by half.

The correctness of the work clearly shows that in one year the army of our country rose by 9 positions in the world ranking of the most powerful armed forces, as well as our military took first place in the Cambrian Patrol contest held in the UK with the participation of 123 teams from 90 countries.

To ensure the unity of the army and the people in all regions, military-administrative sectors have been formed, which today carry out effective activities.

For the first time, collections were held with the participation of heads of state and economic management bodies, regional hokims and their deputies.

A State Committee on the Defense Industry has been established, uniting all relevant enterprises.

Special attention is paid to the social protection of servicemen, their families and veterans of the sphere. So far, 56 houses have been built for them, more than 1,500 servicemen have received housing. Construction continues on 74 more homes.

The meeting addresses issues of further strengthening the military power of our country, the development of the defense industry and military education, the modernization of weapons and military equipment, as well as the improvement of the command and control system by introducing information and communication technologies.
