Tashkent hosted an International workshop on integrated waste management
An international workshop on integrated management of household waste was held in Tashkent.
The workshop was organized by the State Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection jointly with the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan.
Tens of officials, including representatives of international organizations, foreign companies in the sphere of waste management, national and foreign experts in this field and others attended the event.
The primary objective of the workshop was to raise awareness of the international community to the issues of producing waste containers, processing bio waste, construction and reclamation of landfills, selection and use of equipment for pressing solid waste at landfills.
The attendees of the event exchanged views on improving the quality of sanitation services, introduction of effective mechanisms for collection and removal of household waste from territories within the framework of reforming waste management system.
