Uzbekistan to implement pre-paid system for solid household waste collection and disposal
In Uzbekistan, large-scale activities on the improvement and cleanliness of the environment, collection, sorting and recycling of household waste have been carried out.
It should be noted that on November 22, a presidential decree “On measures to improve the payment system for solid waste disposal and collection” was adopted and it is one of the pillars to support such campaigns.
Within the framework of the implementation of this resolution, Namangan regional department of the bureau of compulsory execution (BCE) has organized promotional events in order to deliver the essence and significance of this decree. Such roundtable was held at the administration of Yangikurgan district. The event was organized jointly with the Regional Department for Ecological and Environmental Protection and attended by representatives of local authorities and entrepreneurs.
In particular, it was clarified that effective from January 1, 2019, the decree envisages the execution of mandatory payments by public no later than the 10th day of each month for collecting and exporting solid household waste, while legal entities and individual entrepreneurs are subject to carry out 100% advance payment to such services.
